Tammy Erickson Receives Top Honor at the 2015 Thinkers50 Awards Gala in London

The “Oscars of Management Thinking” Recognize Leading Influential Thinkers of Today’s Big Ideas

November 13, 2015 - London – Tammy Erickson, an adjunct professor of organizational behavior at the London Business School and the Founder and CEO of Tammy Erickson Associates, was named one of the most influential living management thinkers in the world at the recent Thinkers50 awards gala in London. This global ranking – often referred to as the “Oscars of Management Thinking”, honored Erickson for her work and research on organizations and the changing workforce, specifically the shifting relationship between individuals and corporations.

“I am honored to receive this award this year,” said Erickson, “Thinkers50 recognizes work that is having a real-world impact today, we hope making business, the economy, communities better for us all – more innovative, productive and meaningful.”

Thinkers50, the first-ever global ranking of management thinkers, was created in 2001 by Stuart Crainer and Des Dearlove. It is the premier ranking of global business thinkers spanning categories such as innovation, strategy, and leadership.  The Thinkers50, published every two years, provides a valuable benchmark to which thinkers and which ideas matter now.

Ms. Erickson, a writer and expert on organizations, leadership and the workforce, has been on the Thinkers50 List since 2009. She is a McKinsey Award-winner, a leading expert on generations in the workplace, and a widely-respected expert on collaboration and innovation, and the nature of work in intelligent organizations. She has written a trilogy of books on how individuals in specific generations can excel in today’s workplace:  Retire Retirement, What’s Next, Gen X? and Plugged In. Presently she is writing a fourth generational focused book on a new, emerging cohort she calls the ReGeneration, those who are 20 and under today.

“I want to thank the Thinkers50 organization and everyone who supported me to help make this happen,” said Ms. Erickson. “My role at London Business School has allowed me to create a fundamentally new programme on leadership, bringing together much of the work I’ve done over the years exploring why some organizations are more effective than others.  It’s deeply gratifying to see people embrace this work and put it into practice in their organizations.”

About Thinkers50

The Thinkers50 has ten established criteria by which thought leaders are evaluated—originality of ideas; practicality of ideas; presentation style; written communication; loyalty of followers; business sense; international outlook; rigor of research; impact of ideas and the elusive guru factor. Described as the ‘Oscars of Management Thinking,’ Thinkers50’s is referred to by Crainer and Dearlove as “the essential guide to which thinkers and which ideas matter now and which have been consigned to business history.”  The ranking is based on voting at the Thinkers50 website and input from a team of advisers led by Crainer and Dearlove. For Thinkers50 2015, more than 20,000 people named their favourite thinker at the Thinkers50 website and 1,200 people nominated thinkers for specific Distinguished Achievement Awards.

Tammy lives in Carlisle, Ma. with her husband Tom and a collaborative community of horses and dogs.
